Nagaland is located in the North East India with a total land area of 16,579 sq.km which is one of the smallest state in the country. Due to its strategic geographical location, the state has multi-faceted potentials to harness. Nagaland has made tremendous progress since its statehood in 1963. The literacy rate stands at 79.50% which is higher than the national average of 74.04%. The GSDP of the state show that the state’s economy has registered a healthy growth of about 11.64% at constant price in the year 2016-17.
With major reforms in fiscal management, personal policies and institutional structure, Nagaland has emerged as a prominent reforming state in India. Communitization connotes giving ownership to the people who are the actual beneficiaries and stakeholders, the power and responsibilities in the management of public institutions and services at the grass root level.
